The National Association of Railroad Passengers (NARP) is the largest citizen-based advocacy organization for train and rail transit passengers. The NARP mission is “A modern, customer-focused national passenger train network that provides a travel choice Americans want.”

Loomis, author of All Aboard: The Complete North American Train Travel Guide, worked in Honolulu during the late 1970’s as part of the Fasi administration. The late Mayor Frank Fasi, is known for his effort to bring rail mass transit to the islands.
